Naviance Graduation Survey for Seniors

Seniors, you need to complete the senior survey on Naviance as part of your graduation checklist. Click on this link and sign-in to your Naviance account the same way you sign into computers here on campus; using your student ID and active directory password. Once you are logged in, click on the ABOUT ME tab then on GRADUATION SURVEY on the left side of the page."

Q: What is Naviance? What is Family Connection?

A: Naviance is an internet-based program designed to help the college and career search. Family Connection is the student/parent view of Naviance. It is licensed through San Diego Unified School District and is currently available to all students and grade 7 - 12 level and their families.

Q: What can I do on Naviance?

A: Naviance has many useful features to help students in the college search. You can -

  • Search for colleges
  • Compare your GPA/test scores to past Mt. Everest students
  • Build a resume
  • Search for scholarships
  • Complete on-line surveys to help make decisions about careers
  • Keep a journal of notes about schools
  • And much more!

Q: How do I sign up?

A: Each student will receive a specific user I.D. and password. Once you receive your code, go to:

Go to http:// . Click on student and families, sign in. Enter zip code. Select school.

The 5 catagories are:

This category allows students to organize their thoughts about available courses at their High School

*Thoughts about High School and first 2 years of College

This category provides students with feedback on available colleges based on their choice of location, size, religious affiliation, academic philosophy, college environment, etc.. Students also receive information on admissions history based on GPA, test scores, and other criteria particular to each University. Students can also organize their college search by keeping track of the colleges they are thinking about and colleges they apply too.

*Transcripts-Request transcripts be sent to colleges at various priority levels

*College Look-up-Explore colleges by State

*College Search-Complete survey of preferences. Click on view matches to see colleges that meet survey preferences.

*College Resources-Articles/Financial Aid/Test Preparation Information designed to provide students with the facts they will need to make informed decisions as they navigate through the college admissions process.

*Scholarship Match-These options are based on Info. The high school has entered about each scholarship

*Scholarship List-Scholarships are continuously added by the district

*Scholarship Application-Helps students keep track of scholarships they have applied to,have been awarded and amount of award. Also allows students to keep track of scholarships they plan on applying for.

This category allows students to explore careers, majors and universities that best meet their goals. Students are assisted in this search through taking surveys, searching careers based on particular skill sets, and careers that correspond to their personal qualities and activities they enjoy

*Favorite careers and clusters-Explore multiple careers that have common features and skills. Explore careers by answering questions related to career settings or go directly to career clusters and choose. Provides information needed to determine which colleges to apply to. This will also offer suggested careers and pathways.

*My careers-Keeps track of student searches to review

*Personality type survey-Once completed, this will provide a report of students personality type and career matches

*Cluster finder-Provides career clusters that are a good match based on activities that interest students, personal qualities, and subjects they enjoy

*Career interest profiler survey-Work activities and careers that match student interests

This category is a kind of clearing house for everything done in the other categories.

*Goals-Great for organizing goals and the steps necessary to reach those goals

*Tasks-These are assigned by the school for the student. Students can sort by tasks or requirements for graduation. When clicking on the task, the student will be told what they need to do to complete the task.

*Portfolio-Will organize your results from previous surveys and information you have entered in the colleges, careers and about me categories in a quick reference format that is easy to read

*Resume-Build a resume step by step. Instruction and tips are provided for each category.

*Favorite Colleges-Colleges you have searched

*Favorite Careers and Clusters-Organizes careers/colleges and the majors related to those careers

*Game Plan-This information that students supply will help counselors work with students to develop a plan for achieving goals after High School

*Checklist-Indicates whether or not you completed a Naviance objective.

*Journal-Add personal info.and organize the info. To determine who you want to receive it.

*Documents-Contains information students can access from their Naviance account

*Completed Surveys-Record of surveys completed and responses

*Profile-Personal demographics

*Account-See personal demographics


*Overview-Organize to-do items/tasks/goals each day, future and new and their status
