Mt. Everest Academy is a San Diego Unified public school with an alternative learning environment that combines the flexibility of independent study with the community and support of in-person classes.
Our hybrid model empowers students to take charge of their learning while benefiting from traditional face-to-face instruction and interaction with teachers and peers. Students spend a portion of their week working independently on projects and coursework while attending mandatory weekly in-person classes that provide engaging, hands-on lessons and collaborative group work. This blend of self-directed learning and guided instruction has proven highly effective, allowing students to develop critical thinking, time management, and self-advocacy skills while still receiving the structure and support they need to thrive.
What truly sets Mt. Everest Academy apart is our close-knit, supportive community. Our dedicated faculty and staff are deeply invested in each student's success, providing personalized attention, mentorship, and wrap-around services as needed. Our families are active partners, collaborating with the school to ensure the best possible educational experience.
